Required Question
1. I think my portrait project was the most challenging yet successful project. For this project I took a photo of me with the shadow of the shades from a window across my face. I had a couple of brainstorm sketches and my final sketch before i started my final. It was challenging for me because the skin tones were so difficult to replicate and i wasn't used to coloring instead of shading. I feel like my idea was different then anything ive ever done in art. I think this project was successful because you can tell it is me its just too saturated.
Questions
1. I would describe my artistic style by saying its more modern day and vibrant. I would describe success as an artist by saying you don't need to be famous nation wide to be successful. I feel like you have to make or do whatever makes you happy and then you're successful. The most rewarding thing as an artist is getting feedback from even just random people or anyone in general. Throughout art making I've learned a lot of significant things. For example, how to control my strokes when drawing, how to properly layer while using prisma colored pencils, how to shade properly.
2. Two pieces that show my growth in this class was the apple prisma color that i did. Also, the ketchup and tomato project. In the apple prisma i learned to layer and blend all of the colors and how to make it look more realistic by making the edges cleaner. For the ketchup project i learned to make something look translucent by making the colors really light, and highlight certain areas to make it stand out and look as if it was popping out.

4. I felt like the two lessons that were the most beneficial were the shading and the what is value lessons. These taught me how pressure affects the shading and layering with both pencil and prisma color. I feel like i needed more instruction with what colors to blend to make the right color that i was looking for. Otherwise all other instruction and planning was really helpful and taught me more on how to control and slowly layer.
7. I feel like my least successful piece was the contour room that we did in the very beginning. This is because it wasnt proportional at all when i did it and the lines weren't straight. If i could do something different i would pay attention more to details and try to make lines straighter and way more proportional. I feel like if i worked harder to try to make it look right it would have been much better.
